Freeman has been playing volleyball since... games were played to 15, you only scored when you served,net serves were OUT, you could only contact the ball with a part of your body above the waist, and 99.99% of first contacts made with your hands were considered a double hit.

Playing experiences include Cornell University (Ivy League Champions), Empire State Games (ESG) Men’s Open (1978-1985: 3 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze) Pace/Bootlegger Men’s Team (1984-1990) and ESG Men’s Masters (1988-1991: Gold, 2002-2003: Silver).

In addition to coaching at Xtreme (since 2006) he has helped Boys VB at Victor (since 2002: 4 Section V and 1 State Championship) and with the Pace/Bootlegger Boys program (2002-2006: 2 Regional and 2 East Coast Championships). Other volleyball coaching experiences include the Cornell University Women’s team (Assistant 1977-1980), ESG Women’s Open (1986) and ESG Men’s Masters (2003: Silver)

Freeman has been a Certified CAP I coach since 1993 (renewed in 2005) and has been a member of the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Assoc.) since 2003.
